This was my first Brazilian wedding and I am grateful for Jackie and Elia’s for sharing their special day with me. The ceremony and reception were all held in one place, Savoy Caterers in Pennsauken, NJ and the ceremony itself was officiated by my dear friend Fatima Peters. It was a wonderful wedding and here are some of my favorites!
A local icon in the Philadelphia area, Valerie runs and operates Studio 1831, a belly dance, yoga and Pilates studio nestled in the Art Museum section of Philadelphia. Many of today’s top dancers have spent time in her studio. She’s talented and beautiful and has taught me a lot since I’ve known her; she’s one of my dearest friends and someone I can truly count on.

One of the things I like about event photography is the festive atmosphere. It’s like being at a party with everyone is happy, having a good time and you’re part of it. This year I was fortunate enough to be asked to cover this years Brazilian Carnaval at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse in Philadelphia. If you’ve never been there, you’re really missing something special, they really know how to take care of their customers. Also there were the beautiful dancers from Brazil Productions. What a treat, these girls are beautiful both inside and out and really make you feel like you’re in Rio.

I recently shot a wedding in Virginia. It’s not often you get to shoot a family members wedding, let alone your only sister. Although I was supposed to be a guest and capture some of the portraits from that day, the bride was beautiful and I couldn’t help myself. Here are some of my favorites from that day. I know I have a lot of catching up to do with my blog. I will add more as soon as I can but I couldn’t wait to share these photos with you. I am shooting Jackie and Elias wedding next month and was asked to shoot some quick engagement portraits before their wedding. They were very warm and friendly and you see just by their photos how very much in love they are. These were really just candids of them acting naturally with each other and I can’t wait for their wedding!
I recently held a photo shoot for belly dancers entitled “Shoot from the Hips“. It was great fun and I will definitely be holding more of these in the future. Here are some of the first photos from that day. The dancer is Yareli, a beautiful young dancer in the Philadelphia area who holds a lot of promise for an amazing career. I will be posting more in the very near future, but for now here are some of my favorites…
I came across these dancers performing in Rittenhouse Square one day. They are very talented street dancers and a joy to watch. What Fun!
