I was asked to photograph the Miss Brasil USA 2009 Philadelphia pageant this past Sunday. It was held at the 4-Points Sheraton on Rt 1 in the North East section of Philadelphia. There was a great turn out for this fabulous event and it was a great time. Mirella Teles and Lonnie Beck did a great job running the event. Lonnie is co-owner and administrator for Dragon Gym and Mirella, a Philadelphia University Business Administration student (2010) has been involved with the pageant for the past four years. This is her first year running this event, but did an excellent job selling the event out completely and has a lot of experience running parties and other events.

There was a samba performance by Brazil Productions with  4 of their beautiful dancers including a former Miss Brasil Philadelphia pageant winner from 2005 Janaisa Barbosa, along with Erica Saben, Alicia Nascimento and Chigosi Enigwe. Some of the judges were Henrique Rodrigues, Priscilla Costa, Nay Carvalho, Melissa Tarrao and Gabriela Brandt (Miss Brasil USA 2008).

I had the opportunity to photograph one of my good friends Simone, she is a painter, a dancer with Brazil Productions and a model. Most recently she participated in the Miss Brasil USA 2009 Philadelphia pagaent. Here are some photos from her recent fashion shoot.

I recently photographed 2 walk-a-thons for blood cancer sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern Pennsylvania. This society raises money to help cure blood cancer by sponsoring fund raisers through out the year. I’m very excited and grateful to help out such a noble organization. What a perfect day for a wedding. Anna & Lyon had everything in once place – the Inn at Chester Springs – how convient and worry free. They have a beautiful large outdoor patio for the ceremony lined with waterfalls, rose bushes and a gazebo. Adjacent to the patio is a large tent, where cocktails were served with the reception inside. Valerie Henry was their flower girl who performed a beautiful dance, sprinkled flowers up and down the isle. What beautiful and unique way. Here are some of my favorites:

What a beautiful wedding! We started the day at the Residence Inn in Newark De where captured Jennifer getting ready with her bridesmaids. The ceremony was held at the Cedars Church of Christ. We stayed there to get some photos outside of the new couple and then to Il Giardino’s Italian Restaurant for the reception. Elizabeth and I were very well taken care of the staff at Il Giardino’s. Great Job!

We had a wonderful time at Luci & Jairo’s wedding. The ceremony and reception were held on the Spirit of Philadelphia with great food and of course a great view of Philadelphia as we moved up and down the Delaware river. The ceremony was officiated by my good friend Fatima Peters. Later we went over to Love Park and the Azalea gardens for some more photo opportunities. With the help of my associate photographer, Elizabeth we got some great shots of the wedding party and couple.

After rescheduling a few times, we decided to do an in studio portrait session for Kristan and Jackson. When they arrived it was such a nice day we decided to head over to the Art Museum. Although it did turn out to be rather windy when we got there, Kristan and Jackson endured and we all had a great time. See for yourself:

I had the pleasure of shooting Dana & Brian’s engagement photos. It was a sunny day at first so we decided to walk over to the Art Musem and shoot around the Azalea gardens and of course the Rocky Statue. Here are some of my favorites:
